Assignment Still Life/ Personal Choice

Self Portrait Still Life
F/stop -3.2
Focal Length 6mm
Shutter Speed 1/3 sec
ISO- 200
For my personal theme I picked many of my favorite things to do. The background I used a blanket I got while playing basketball in high school and reminds me of some many great memories.  I also have one of my favorite hats with the logo of the job I have worked at for the last four years. I also have my favorite headphones and my hearing protection for shooting guns. Then I have one of my PS3 remotes since that is one of my favorite pass times to relieve stress. Then I have my cell phone, wallet, and some of my pocket knives since I normally carry at all times.

Overall Image Manupilated
F/stop -3.5
Focal Length 7mm
Shutter Speed 1/15 sec
ISO- 400
For this  still life I went and got some of my video games and made a pyramid with my all-time favorite on top, Skyrim. I then used a Vintage filter on it to cause the overall appearance to look more yellow and aged.

Themed Still Life

For my personal theme i decided to do it on a shooting theme. I grabbed some of my bullets, and clips to my favorite handgun and rifle. Then I grabbed some clay pigeons since that is something I love to do any chance I get. The background I choice to use an orange towel to represent the orange you have to wear while hunting.

For this still life I went through my cupboards and ended grabbing some whiskey glasses, mason jars, and a few shot glasses. For the background and floor I used cd’s to give it a nice reflective property as well.

For this still life I went through my cupboards and ended grabbing some whiskey glasses, mason jars, and a few shot glasses. For the background and floor I used cd’s to give it a nice reflective property as well. Then i took an extra mason jar and put it on the end of the camera lens which gives the picture a nice new perspective.

Still Life--MA

I used a lamp for my lighting. I had it coming in from the side because I liked the contrast it had on the objects.
I chose the dark leather background because the flower and softball popped, but the picture and book blended.
ISO: 150
Fstop: f/2.4
Shutter speed: 1/50
Focal length: 33

I used the background as the tile in my kitchen. It is lighter so it makes my objects pop.
I used the lighting of the window coming behind my objects to make it look more heavenly.
ISO: 400
Fstop: f/2.4
Shutter speed: 1/20
Focal length: 33
My back ground is the brown wall. I chose this because it draws your eyes to the lighter part of the picture which is in the mirror.
My lighting is again a window because I liked how the natural light looked with the reflective surfaces.
ISO: 800
Fstop: f/2.4
Shutter speed: 1/15
Focal length: 33

My background is the black table which contrasted well with the bright pink and white flowers.
My lighting is the lamp because it made the flowers brighter.

My background is the night sky which really brought out the brightness in the lime green lantern.
My lighting is from the setting sun and the rising moon, and a little bit from the lantern itself.
ISO: 50

I chose the objects in the picture because they show who i am. Music is a big part of my life. I worked at the old Rose Theatre all through high school and some of college. I spend most of my time working, but friends and family are most important to me. I wanted a dark background with color splotch, and  artificial lighting from the top to bring out the film. The lighting made it where you can see the soundtrack and some individual frames of the film, and have a nice color pop.

ISO: 400
Focal Length: 10 mm
Shutter Speed: 1/20 sec
Aperture: 3.5
I chose a western theme for this picture. Ranching is a part of my family's history. I wanted  a background that would have a typical country feel. The light I used was natural from the window, to bring out the colors in a more saturated way.

Transparent & Reflective Objects
ISO: 400
Focal Length: 12 mm
Shutter Speed: 1/8 sec
Aperture: 3.5
I used a textured background to bring out the translucent texture of the glass, while side lighting was used to also show the transparency of the glasses.

Enhanced Overall Image
ISO:800
Focal Length: 5 mm
Shutter Speed: 1/8 sec
Aperture: 3.5
I used a textured background to make the smooth outside of the shoes pop. This image has natural light from the window, and Photoshop to manipulate the color, saturation, and hues.

Part two Choice Picture
ISO: 400
Focal Length: 5 mm
Shutter Speed: 1/30 sec
Aperture: 3.5
I used the close up macro lens to manipulate the foreground to be blurry and the background to be clear.

Assignment #5 - Still Life -- KR

Self Portrait Still Life
F/3.1, 1/5 sec., ISO-800, 4 mm
In this still life I chose these objects to show the time of life I am in. I am currently planning my wedding. In this picture I have placed my veil, a bible, my engagement ring, and my wedding rings. I chose the black backdrop to help enhance the white of the veil. I used the flash of the camera and also some natural light to bring out the true colors instead of the colors affected by the lighting in the room.

A Themed Collection
F/3.1, 1/30 sec., ISO-80, 4 mm
I chose to do a fall theme collection because fall is my favorite season of the year. In the picture there is corn stalks with a decorative bow, a vase with ornamental grasses, wart pumpkins, and random gourds. Wart pumpkins are my favorite kind of pumpkin because of how unique they are. I used natural light as well as the flash.

Reflective Objects
F/3.5, 1/15 sec., ISO-400, 7 mm
In this picture I took the reflection of some stuff in the corner of our car port. There is a ladder, a shop vac, a cooler, and other miscellaneous stuff. I used natural light for the picture. The car itself is a new car we recently purchased.

Image Manipulated
F/3.2, 1/40 sec., ISO-200, 6 mm
I took this picture using a flash and edited it to gray. Once it was gray I only brought the orange back to help give it a more fall feel. The background is just a white.

My choice
F/3.2, 1/5 sec., ISO-800, 6 mm
This is a picture of an empty china hutch. I thought it was neat how the TV and light is very clearly shown and also how the window of the door shows in the reflection.

In this picture I picked 12 different items that represent myself and I put them against a cork board. I kept the items spear apart so that it was easy for the view to see what each item is so they can have a better idea of who I am. I placed the items directly under a light because I wanted the items to be as vibrant as possible. I like the cork board because that is what I usually  hang picture and other things up on in my room, and I think it represents me as well.

My theme in this picture is all American eagle clothes. In this picture I did not separate the items like I did in the last one. I wanted these items to be over lapping, I think it gives a greater effect to the fact that they are all one category. I also did not place the clothes directly under the lamp like I did the first one. I thought the colors of the clothes were warm and to add a greater warm effect I gave the image less lighting.

Luckily my favorite sun glasses fit the requirement of transparency. I set my glasses near the window on my bed so I could get the natural lighting in this image. The reason I put the sun glasses in my bedding is because I like the pattern, and the colors black and white in photography. When I took this I got almost parallel with my camera so that you could see my bedding on both sides of the lenses.

This is a picture of my glove and softball. To manipulate the background of this picture I changed it to black and white style. I left the ball yellow so that it would stand out in the picture. I took this picture in the sunlight. I placed in by a base and had dirt in the picture so that it represented softball as best as it could.

I was lucky enough to see how amazing the rainbow was yesterday. You could see every color in the rainbow when we were out there. I took this picture as a panorama.  I played with the lighting so that I could best display what I saw when I was out there. I am disappointed you can not see as much purple in the picture as we could outside but it is still a beautiful picture.
